Refund Policy

This Refund Policy applies to all bookings made with Chalo Folks. By confirming your booking, you agree to the terms outlined below.

1. Deposits

  • All deposits are non-refundable.
  • Deposits secure accommodation, guides, transport, and other third-party services in advance. Once paid, these funds are immediately allocated and cannot be recovered.

2. Cancellation by Traveller

If you cancel your trip, the following refund structure applies:

  • More than 60 days before departure – Deposit retained; remaining amount refunded.
  • 30–60 days before departure – 50% of total trip cost refunded.
  • Less than 30 days before departure – No refund.
  • No-show – No refund.

All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing.

3. Visa Refusal

  • Failure to obtain a visa does not qualify for a full refund. Standard cancellation terms will apply.
  • We strongly advise applying for visas well in advance.

4. Voluntary Withdrawal During Trip

No refunds will be provided for:

  • Early departure
  • Missed activities
  • Voluntary withdrawal
  • Personal dissatisfaction
  • Illness (unless covered by your insurance)

Unused services are non-refundable.

5. Force Majeure (Unforeseen Events)

If a trip is impacted by events beyond our control (including but not limited to natural disasters, government restrictions, strikes, political unrest, pandemics, or extreme weather):

  • We may offer a credit toward a future trip, OR
  • A partial refund minus unrecoverable supplier costs

We are not responsible for additional personal expenses such as flights, visas, or insurance.

6. Cancellation by Chalo Folks

If we cancel a trip before departure (for operational or safety reasons), you will be offered:

  • A full refund of trip payments made, OR
  • The option to transfer to another departure, OR
  • Credit toward a future trip

We are not liable for incidental costs outside the trip price.

7. Minimum Group Size

  • Some trips require a minimum number of participants.
  • If the minimum group size is not reached, we may cancel or reschedule the departure. In such cases, you will receive a full refund or alternative option.

8. Optional Activities

  • Refunds for optional activities depend on the third-party provider's cancellation policy.
  • Some optional activities may be non-refundable once booked.

9. Chargebacks & Payment Disputes

  • By agreeing to these Refund Terms, you acknowledge the cancellation structure.
  • Filing a chargeback contrary to this policy may result in recovery action for associated administrative and legal costs.

10. Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance to cover:

  • Cancellation
  • Medical emergencies
  • Trip interruption

Insurance claims must be made directly with your provider.
